ALTER BRIDGE's new album, "Blackbird", is available for streaming in its entirety at AOL Music. The follow-up the band's 2004 debut, "One Day Remains", was released on Tuesday (October 9) and follows a period of massive changes in which the group parted ways with both its previous label and manager. Guitarist Mark Tremonti told The Pulse of Radio that he thinks adversity often leads bands to make better records: "You know, I think a lot of bands'best records are when they're going through hard times and it really comes across on this record," he said. "You know, we don't bring these hard times upon us, but it really does help you push and we're pretty much essentially fighting for survival, you know, and that's what you have to do in this business, 'cause any day your career could be over and we're not about to give it up. So this record is pretty much our best effort we could put out."
"Blackbird" follows up the band's 2004 debut, "One Day Remains".
Tremonti, bassist Brian Marshall and drummer Scott Phillips were all previously in CREED, while frontman Myles Kennedy sang for the MAYFIELD FOUR.
A 14-minute audio interview with Myles Kennedy conducted by Danish rock/metal magazine Revolution-Music.dk has been posted online at this location (MP3, 7 MB).
